Charlotte Ultimate is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 with the vision of building a vibrant community centered around competition and fun in the sport of Ultimate.
Their mission is:
“To advance the sport of Ultimate in the greater Charlotte area by fostering a community centered on sportsmanship, inclusion, and competition.”
I have been volunteering for Charlotte Ultimate for over ten years in various capacities, including merch design and social media management. The organization has grown tremendously in the time I have been working there- what was once various pickups and a singular league has become a powerhouse on the east coast, home to five leagues and hosting various high profile tournaments. In 2026, Charlotte Ultimate spearheaded an initiative to integrate ultimate frisbee into CMS elementary and middle schools as part of their PE curriculum.
